Resilience: Courageously Adapt and Build Back

presented by Tracy Stock

Session Description:

Whether it is a tumultuous relationship at work, the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, a serious illness, or another traumatic event, these are all examples of very challenging life-altering experiences. Most people react to such circumstances with a flood of strong emotions and a heightening sense of insecurity and uncertainty. By understanding factors that influence resilience and applying powerful strategies to more effectively move through the four phases of it, you can positively alter how you work through hardships and more effectively influence and help others, too.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discover why some people are more resilient than others when facing adversity or significant sources of stress—like workplace issues, relationship problems, serious health concerns or financial stressors.
  • Build your level of each of the four types of resilience by learning from past experiences and how sources of personal strength can help influence your ability to adapt to difficult events.
  • Apply 10 powerful strategies to effectively move from experiencing an issue to achieving an enhanced sense of purpose, a positive and optimistic outlook, and a paved path toward peak performance.

Our speaker for this session will be virtual, however members are encouraged to still join us in-person to enjoy lunch and networking with your fellow HALA members, our 2022 Diverse Scholar interns, and our Business Partners.

The session will be available via zoom to any member that does not attend in-person.  The zoom portion of the meeting will begin at noon.

**If you register to attend in-person and do not attend, or cancel the day of, there will be a $20 cancellation fee.**

The building is accessible from the tunnel and parking is available and will be validated for those that park in the 909 Fannin building garage. The garage has 2 entrances: one is on San Jacinto just after you cross McKinney (easy to enter with small cars); the second is on Walker just after you cross San Jacinto (this one is better for larger cars). Pull a ticket and park in any unreserved space. Take the elevator to the lobby and find our elevator bank that includes the 27th floor.  (It’s an automated system in which you select the floor from a keypad and an elevator opens to take you directly that floor.)

The Zoom login information will be emailed to all registered participants the morning of the session.

Thank you to our 2022 Platinum Business Partners for helping to sponsor this meeting.
