Ergonomics and Loss Prevention: A guide to designing a healthy workplace as it relates to loss and prevention
presented by Emily Lai and Jonathan Puleio with HumanScale and Jackie Byers with Chubb
Session Description
Advances in computing technology are testing the limits of the human body and have made designing for long term comfort and health increasingly challenging. Prolonged computer usage in sedentary postures has led to a sharp increase in musculoskeletal complaints among office workers.
This educational program elevates awareness of ergonomic concerns and provides an overview of common musculoskeletal problems facing today’s intensive computer users. Key research developments in the areas of seating, input device design, display technology, lighting and employee level training are discussed. Attendees will learn how ergonomics principles are being applied to the design of computer workstations in an effort to reduce employee discomfort and risk of injury while lowering employer costs.
**Parking at the 811 Louisiana Parking Garage WILL be validated. You can enter the garage from Louisiana Street just north of Walker St. or from Milam Street just south of Rusk St.**
